Norman Dalgaard Obituary and Memorial service - 7/22/2008 12:00:00 AM

Norman G. Dalgaard
Aug. 22, 1914 - July 19, 2008
Longtime local resident Norman G. Dalgaard peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1914, in San Francisco to Danish parents, Mads and Marie Dalgaard. When he was three months old, his parents bought land near Winters and built a farm, where he and his sister Ruth grew up.
Norman graduated from Winters High School in 1931 and served during WWII in the Army Air Corps. 
In 1942, he married Margaret Dettling of Dixon, and they had two children, Dale and Sherill. After Margaret's death in 1967, Norman married Anna (Reichmuth) Brundrett, who had been recently widowed.
Norman retired from Valley Livestock Transportation of Dixon after 27 years of employment. He was grand past president and a member for 77 1/2 years of the Danish Lodge Dania, Hejmdal No. 4, Sacramento, CA. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Yolo No. 195, for 59 years. 
Norman is survived by his wife, Anna; son, Dale (and Mary Ellen) Dalgaard; and daughter, Sherill (and Rick) Cox. Additional surviving family members are Anna's daughter, Jackie (and Pete) Zuger; like a daughter, Mette (and Hugo) Cornejo; grandchildren, Justin (and Brooke) Dalgaard, Maren Dalgaard and Anna Marie Zuger; and great grandchildren, Brody Dalgaard and LeAnna Zuger. 
A Memorial Service will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Davis, 1655 Da Vinci Court, Davis, CA at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008. Norman would have been 94 years old on this day.
