The continuing missile attacks have so far cost over 300 lives in the Palestinian territory, including many civilian deaths. Per Stig Møller said that Israel's actions are only serving to destroy any possibility of peace in the region.
'The spiral of violence was started by Hamas and was brought out of proportion by Israel's attacks,' he said. 'Israel has the right to defend itself but civilian casualties are unacceptable.'
Møller added that Israel must allow humanitarian and emergency services to safely enter Gaza.
'Israel must now help contribute to improving the humanitarian situation for the people of Gaza. The continuing violence only serves Hamas' interests and seriously weakens the chance for a political agreement that can be the only solution to the conflict.'

Where is the condemnation of Hamas raining missles onto Israel? PEACE??? How do you have peace with people who want to destroy a country??? What about the involvement of Syria and Iran??? Perhaps if Hamas did not hide within the civilian population with their unprovoked missle attacks on Israel; Israael's defensive response to said attack would not be in civilian areas. Again, where is the world outrage at Hamas tactics within their own civilian populations?
Hamas was elected because of their empty promises of health care, schools, and jobs. What did Hamas do with all of the world money pouring into the region? It is still the same conditions and attitudes with Hamas towards Israel. But then again, no outrage there either. Israel is always to blame...go figure...
